SHORT RUN POST #2 (OF 3)
EAT EAT EAT 1 & 2 - Tom van Deusen an ongoing pathetic romance by the genre’s foremost funnyman. its nice to see cartoonists that are putting Funny before Weird. its getting to be a rare delight
Future Forever - Zach Burba a recursive, poetical meditation on peace-punk utopia. the drawings are like an appropriate cross between John P and Phil Elverum, but they belie a uniquely sophisticated channel-flipping narrative. almost like a higher tempo Huizenga, in that regard. one of my all time fav mini comics!!!!!
Intruder 3 & 4 putting seattle back on the map with two more issues of this great anthology. Tom van Deusen’s dating strips on the back are always a real treat but its all good
It’s Snowing Down South - Andrice Arp andrice arp is an infrequent cartoonist, but an amazing one. so this new zine (her first ever?? what?!?) is cause for celebration. this mini seems to be the product/process of direct creative therapy, sort of in a dina kelberman vein. featuring comics, drawings, and recipes.
KUTI 24 I know we’re living in the Age of Anthologies but this thing really captures the zeigeist better than pretty much anybody
Violence Valley - Jesse McManus damm i just dont know what to say. there are no words. this is beautiful, perfect, pure cartooning from today’s young master draughtsman. the steinberg of our generation im serious
